Sanderson Cyclone Drilling Rig
on display at the
Drake Well Museum

The Sanderson Cyclone Drilling Rig was originally mounted on iron wheels and used the drilling engine to propel it. To make this rig more mobile, the owner mounted it onto a 1927 GMC "Big Brute."

While this machine could and did drill shallow oil wells, it spend most of its life drilling water wells and boring holes for coal mines.
