Howard "Porky" Cutter and his lovely wife Bess
Howard Cutter, started drilling, in 1954, with his own company, H.C. Drilling Company, Enid Oklahoma. One year later, his father, Ellis E. "Porky " Cutter, left his job with George E. Failing Co., to join Howard as a partner. The company became known as H. E. Cutter & Dad Drilling Company. Later, it was changed to Cutter & Dad Drilling Company. The company advanced quite rapid and soon had offices in several states. After the father passed away in 1965, the business was sold. The next following years, the father's nickname of "Porky" was passed down to Howard and he became known as, Howard "Porky" Cutter.
Howard "Porky" continued working in drilling, and in 1966, joined the Georgia Institute of Technology, as their, Senior Research Engineer. In this position, Howard core drilled all over South Georgia, and also, taught, others to drill.
Howard "Porky" has worked for several well known drilling manufacturing firms, Ewbanks Mfg. Co, George E Failing Co. as a Field Sales Representative, which gave him the opportunity to meet, many people in the drilling business.
In 1962, Howard "Porky"earned a "Foreman Engineer Degree" from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. 1983, Howard "Porky" received the 4th, "Master Ground Water Contractor Certification" issued by the National Ground Water Association. And, in 1987, he started, Drilling Consultants International Inc. which he operates today. This has taken him to many states, and foreign countries, such as Mexico, Central and South America, West Indies and Taiwan.
Howard "Porky", who is 60 years old, is still, very active in drilling. Him and his wife, Bess, live in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA. They have two sons, Chris and Randall, both working in drilliing.
